Hello families! For the past seven years, I have had the wonderful experience of teaching at a Montessori preschool in Portland, Oregon. The Montessori method of teaching nurtures the child's individual learning style, values respectful behavior towards people, oneself and the environment, and allows for the child to engage and learn with peers. As a teacher, my role was to foster the child's creativity and interests through art, music, dancing, playing, while teaching mindfulness and kindness. Before teaching preschool age children, I nannied for three different families and was a date night babysitter for many years. Additionally, I am the lucky aunt to a five year old nephew whom I am very close to. I truly and authentically enjoy spending time with children. I believe it's one of the most important thing you can do in life- is to care, nurture and teach children. It is very important to show Read more respect for children by actively listening and gently guiding them through challenges, learning and exploration. I love finding bugs, finger painting, reading books over and over, singing songs, being in nature, and playing age appropriate games to teach and help form young minds. I'm patient, kind, smiley, energetic, and calm. Safety is absolutely my number one priority when watching your child. I have an infant and child CPR certification (which I've held for 13 years). I take safety very seriously! My education includes a Bachelor's degree in Social Science and Child and Family Studies from Portland State University.
