Hi there! My name is Emily, and I truly believe children are the most important people in the household. It’s our responsibility to teach children how to be people, and that must be a priority of the caregivers. I don’t align with “because I said so”, “do as I say not as I do” or other similar mentalities. Boundaries need to be set with kids to keep them safe, and helping them to understand why some behaviors are not okay allows them to use that information in the future when they are deciding for themselves. Children need the opportunity to explore and learn within the boundaries of a safe environment. Adults model for children how people should behave. How can we expect a child to not do a behavior that they see a caregiver doing? The responsibility of adults to act in ways that support the morals they have and Read more want to instill in their kids is apparent. I have extensive experience and a passion for working with kids. My mom was an in-home childcare provider from when I was one year old until I was sixteen. She was hurt by the experience of dropping me off at daycare every day, so she decided to choose a career that allowed us to spend as much time together as possible. Through this, I gained ample knowledge of caring for children, primarily ages between birth and age five. After this, I babysat on my own for a couple different families. Most of my work experience as an adult has been office or retail. I moved to Mesa from Peoria in February; my boyfriend and I took the next step to living together. Because of the relocation, I left my retail management job. With the job change opportunity I decided I want to be a nanny. I do not have kids yet, but I can’t wait. My boyfriend and I are both marriage and family minded, and are currently working toward buying a home and making that dream a reality. I like to be active. I want to do more than just live, I want to thrive. I’m always looking for a chance to grow. I get so much fulfillment from being able to touch the lives of others. Nothing is more rewarding for me than when I have the opportunity to make someone feel seen or validated in their feelings or experiences. I love to make crafts, sing, and dance to my favorite songs. I love to be outside and to laugh and enjoy the small things. I believe in taking time to be present. Thank you for your consideration as I know this is a very important decision for you and your family.
