I am a graduate from the program of Behavioral Science Technology at St. Lawrence College and from a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Arizona. My education has given me the opportunity to put in practice my knowledge in a variety of settings. Throughout these placement settings, I was responsible for the creation and implementation of Behavioral Change/Support Plans which included data collection through assessment and observational records, graphing the procedures’ development and outcome, formation of combinations of evidence-based treatments, and the implementation of these. These individualized Behavior Change Plans were created for and implemented to young students in school settings and adults with mental health diagnosis, developmental diagnosis, and dual diagnosis in agency-based settings. I worked independently under the supervision of different professors. Positive feedback was provided by both my onsite and placement supervisor. An accomplishment I would like to highlight is that one of my Read more Behavioral Change programs was well acknowledge by my placement supervisor and taken to different professors and the program coordinator to use as a future reference and sample. This and more provides me the confidence of being the ideal candidate for this position. My volunteering work has given me the opportunity to improve my crisis management and safety plan development skills. Being part of the Front-Line Crisis team at Sexual Assault Centre Kingston has offered me the knowledge and practice to provide counselling (CBT and ACT), offer follow-up services, give support and comfort to survivors in crisis situations, and become a supportive and active team member.
