I started babysitting at 11 years old, I watched over three toddlers. After awhile I was the contact church family’s called for an evening to themselves, or when events took place. When I moved, the neighbors found out I nanny and babysat. I watched all of their kids many times, having up to 15 kids on some nights. I’ve worked at Christian overnight camps, acting as a counselor and activities coordinator for all age groups. Most recently I worked at a private school for at-risk students. For this I received a level one clearance card to work with children. Also, I’ve received my First Aid Certification a couple years ago. On many occasions, I have pet and house-sat for friends and acquaintances. Housekeeping, laundry, garden maintenance, cooking, walking the dogs, and playing with the cats or birds were some of the responsibilities. I don’t drink, smoke, or entertain drugs. I Read more like kids to play and have fun, but I understand how important structure with a pinch of discipline is for an adult-in-training. I like to keep consistency with the parent’s methods of raising. And I believe it’s important for the parent(s) to feel comfortable with a sitter before leaving, so I like to visit beforehand to make introductions and establish a relationship.
