Throughout my upbringing, my passion for caregiving blossomed as I started babysitting young children, including those with autism, drawing upon the nurturing abilities that were innate in me. My mother's friends would often seek my assistance, recognizing my patience and skill with kids, further reinforcing my commitment to this path. However, it was my summers at Wavus, a cherished wilderness camp in Maine, that truly shaped the person I am today. From the age of 7, I immersed myself in its teachings, learning the values of self-care, kindness, compassion, and effective communication.
