Hello! My name is Shaylee Nelson and I have lived in the Tempe area since August of 2021. I graduated in Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in Family Science and Early Childhood Education in May 2021. Since the age of 8, I have been passionate about caring for small children. As the second oldest of 5 children, my caregiving skills started by supervising my younger siblings. By the age of 10, I was accepting babysitting opportunities during the evenings after school. Within the past 10 years, I have gained experience with children through these numerous babysitting jobs, as well as long-term nannying for different families, and working in a childcare facility. Since moving to Arizona in 2021, I have acquired three nanny families and worked full time during the week. However, my primary family that I've been with for 3 years will transferring onto a Montessori preschool. Therefore I am Read more looking for another position, as I will be available again beginning in August. The primary family I have worked with in Arizona are twin girls that I have been with since 10 months old and they are currently 3.5 years old. My other family consisted of one girl who was 3 months when I started and was 18 months when they moved away, ending our time together. In addition, I have cared for two other sets of twins off and on during these years in AZ, who are now both 2 years old. I have a special place in my heart for caring for infants, however my experience ranges up to school-age children as well. Through these job opportunities, I have been successful in attending to the physical, emotional and developmental needs of these children, while creating a nurturing environment. My strengths include multitasking, organization, communication, and most importantly a genuine passion to spend time with children. I do have my CPR certification.
