My name is Maia. I have been an infant/toddler teacher for the past 7 years in center settings. I hold a BA Humanities degree and have completed 24 hours of master's level course work in Early Childhood Education. I am the mother of two daughters and a proud grandma to two grandchildren. I love working with children; seeing them grow, develop and learn brings me such joy. My philosophy in working with young children is that they deserve a safe, loving, and positive environment in order to explore, discover, and learn about the world. I believe in redirection, positive reinforcement, and natural consequences as opposed to harsh words or punishments when necessary. I understand that children experience big feeling that they sometimes need help in understanding and navigating. The health and safety of the children in my care are the top priority. I am CPR and first aid certified. I Read more have proven myself to remain calm and rational in moments of crisis. I have been trained in safe sleep methods and how to identify possible risks to a young child's safety. I deeply care about children and their future. I love being a part of the most important years in their young lives and providing a positive influence in their early years.
