Hello, My name is Raquel Medeiros and I absolutely love kids! I've been working at a Large Licensed Daycare for a little over a year now. Before that I nannied for a few families for a couple of years. I now have a total of 8 years of experience working with children. Thanks to all this wonderful experience I've had with these jobs, I've now worked with all ages between newborns (about 5 month olds) and up to 13 year olds; with up to 8 kids at once in my care alone. This has given me the qualification to multitask well with children if needed. I love giving children my undivided attention to show them the love, care and support they deserve. Working with kids and youth is my passion as I started doing this at a young age. I began babysitting other children when I was 13 years old Read more and continued throughout high school. As a junior and senior in high school I was involved in a program called Youth Educator Program where I was trained on how to teach kids and young teens on how to prevent from using drugs and alcohol. I then taught middle school classes lessons on this. During my first year of college I was in a program called Camp Adventure where I trained at Sacramento State and UC Davis on how to be a camp counselor for kids who live on military bases outside of the country. All of this experience has inspired me to eventually become a motivational speaker for children and teens around the world after I get my doctorate in psychology to help make a positive difference in a child's life. I love teaching children new things, learning new things from them and just making their lives happy as they make mine happy. I love playing sports, reading, games indoor and outdoor, arts and crafts or anything fun. I also have the qualifications to teach swim lessons and dance lessons. I have my Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certification. I have many years of experience and would love to continue the journey of working with children for the rest of my life. I am also willing to meet the needs of errands, housekeeping, homework, cooking, or any pet care that you have. Overall I think getting a chance to work with kids is an amazing opportunity because I am always excited to go to work, the days are filled with laughter, and even through the hard days we grow and learn together with lots of love and support.
