Childcare is my full time profession and passion. For sixteen years I've had the great pleasure of working in the wonderful world of children. I also have three children of my own, now 17, 27, and 34 years of age. While I enjoy working with children of all ages, I especially love caring for newborns. For long term care, this is the best time to establish a strong relationship. I've worked with both individual children as well as sibling pairs, one brother-sister pair and one sister-sister pair. My longest tenure with a family has been ten years. During that time I cared for two sisters, beginning when the youngest child was an infant through her 10th birthday. I speak fluent Spanish as well as English. Several families have asked me to speak to their children exclusively in Spanish so that their children will grow up bilingual. I believe that the best thing for babies and young children is love. They need love and when you give them love they give love back to you. Of course children need firm and strong guidance as well. Ana has been our daughter Zee’s primary caretaker from the time our daughter was born. In the three years we have worked with Ana, we could not have hoped for a better caretaker. In fact, when we moved from New York to Los Angeles, we asked Ana to join us. Ana’s extensive experience (she has been a professional nanny for more than 15 years) and instinctive understanding of children allow her to meet the challenges that a growing child can present with a great deal of love and kindness. We attribute the remarkable empathy and affection that has developed in our daughter to Ana’s extremely warm and loving personality. We would describe our daughter as “high need” in that she is very energetic and intellectually curious. Ana, remarkably, never flags in her attentiveness or enthusiasm for interacting with Zee -- even after the 1,000th “Why?” question of the day. Ana will comfortably spend hours with Zee engaged in imaginative play, but she’s equally happy to run after Zee in a park, read her stories, or help her solve puzzles. Childcare is clearly Ana’s passion in life, and she devotes herself entirely to the needs of our daughter. Ana’s abilities are apparent from her own wonderful children, now young adults, whose warmth and affection have also had a profoundly positive impact on our daughter. We could not recommend Ana more highly. She is a truly rare and gifted caretaker.
