Hi! My name is Mercedes, I’m 28 years old, I’m environmental engineer and I’m from Barranquilla, Colombia. I am responsible, friendly, respectful, tolerant, positive, enthusiastic, and quite dreamy person, but at the same time realistic, determined, and focused. I always try to fulfill everything I set out to do, and precisely because of those goals and dreams I decided to be an Au pair. On 05/21/2021, started living in Tiburon, California, taking care of two baby boys now 5 and 3 years old. Just ended my program on 05/16/2023. Regarding to my experience, I have now 2 years experience with this program as an Au pair plus the experience I had back in Colombia as volunteer in a kindergarten where I helped with over 30 kids ages between 2-4, and also babysitting babies from 5 months to toddlers ages 2-5 years old. I can drive, have a California driver license Read more and I also consider myself as very neat person. I also have CPR/first aid certificate. The agency trained and evaluated me before giving me the certificate. I am fully vaccinated as well. I love children, and I love seeing them develop interest in the world. I really enjoy reading/making up stories with them, I enjoy dancing with them, and I enjoy imagining landscapes and artworks in their drawings. I get excited for every new development, whether it's language or social, as if they were mine. When they learn something new, or when they outperform themselves, I feel so proud. Finally, I'm a mature with experience as a college graduate majoring in environmental engineering, experience in the corporate world as an environmental engineer, and of course experience as an au pair. I don't drink or party. I'm here to learn about North American culture, to constantly improve my English, and to help my family back in Colombia.
