Hello! My name is Julie and (as you may have guessed) I love caring for children! I recently moved back to Los Angeles and am excited to get back into childcare! I have babysitting and nanny experience here in LA as well as Philadelphia for a combined 5 years of professional experience. Additionally, I have professional child education experience from my 2 years as an After School Enrichment Teacher and Teacher's Aide at Mt. Washington Elementary School. I have experience caring for infants as young as 2 months, toddlers, twin toddlers plus their 4-year-old brother and playful pit bull, kindergartners, as well as with elementary-aged children. (My class sizes at Mt. Washington Elementary were usually between 20-25 students.) My favorite babysitting activities include being active outside, reading stories, singing, arts and crafts, and playing pretend. I have no problem helping out with light house-keeping (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc.) or with Read more preparing meals. I am happy to help children with homework or provide tutoring in various subjects. I love animals, so I feel comfortable helping with pet care such as feeding, walking, bathing, etc. I was a lifeguard at the YMCA for 4 years, so I can supervise children in pool settings, and have been trained by the American Heart Association in CPR and first aid. I also taught group and private swim lessons during that time to children ages 3 - 13. If your child wants to learn to swim, I would be happy to set up lesson times. Here is an example of my previous childcare experience: One family that I was able to nanny for in Philadelphia had an energetic 2- year-old boy and a newborn baby girl. I had so much fun being active with Leo: taking him to music class, toddler tumbling, and playing at the park together. I also prepared meals for him and put him down for nap time. For his sister, baby Cici, I did all the usual tasks such a bottle feeding, swaddling, diaper changes, and walks outside with the stroller. I loved caring for both adorable siblings!
