Meet Shayde

Hi! My name is Shayde, and I absolutely love working with kids. I grew up the big sister to four younger siblings and have been watching them from an early age. I grew up in the church, so naturally I spent a lot of time working with kids there too. I regularly joke about my “big sister syndrome” - I always have to make sure everyone has everything they need, some food, and is having a good time. Taking care of people and having the opportunity to be a supportive teacher, mentor, and role model, makes my heart warm. Over the last few years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work as a character performer with a princess party company, and as a music director at a children’s theatre camp. I have a passion for therapy and mental health awareness, and I incorporate the tools I’ve learned into my teachings Read more when I work with humans of all ages. I’ve worked in customer service for 12 years…it’s hard. Retail, food service, coffee, receptionist work…it’s worth it because people are truly my passion. Human connection is the most beautiful thing to me. I have music training (voice/guitar/ukulele) and 10 years of theatre experience. I love working with kids because they are true to themselves. They are honest, they are fierce, and they are curious. They are eager to take in new information. Being a part of that journey is a gift and it is the most important thing to me to do it from a place of acceptance, support, authenticity, transparency, and love - no matter what. Everyone deserves a safe, judgement-free environment to be who they are so they have the space to learn, and I will always do my best to provide that. Working with kids is the most rewarding, fun, heartwarming, soul-fulfilling thing I have ever done.
