I have taken care of 34 sets of newborn twins and some newborn singletons and have stayed with many families as the infants became toddlers and older children. I have Infant/Child CPR, First Aid and Trust Line Certifications, along with excellent references, all required child care vaccinations, a California Driver's License, clean DMV and safe fully insured automobile. I believe that a child's healthy self-esteem begins to develop early and I do all I can to promote and enhance it -- positive affirmations, acknowledge of achievements with smiles, hugs, clapping, etc. I believe it is vitally important for each child to feel good about themselves to become happy children and successful adults. This is the way I raised my son, who is a Software Engineer in Seattle. He said this gave him the foundation he needed to build a successful career. I think, as a nanny, that I have an Read more obligation to the parents to follow their guidelines in accomplishing their goals for their children's well-being. I am a mature nanny. However, I am very energetic and would put my level up against any nanny in their twenties. I take very good of my health and have never called in sick in any of my many jobs. I am never tired at the end of the day, no matter how many children or hours needed. When my son moved to Seattle, I worked seven days a week, sometimes more than eight hour shifts, for over a year until he could his feet solidly on the ground. In my last job I took care of an infant from two days old to 25 months. (It was a 60 hour weekly job). After she became older, I took her to musical activities, Libraries, parks, or wherever the parents chose. I have done this with many children. The previous job was a 50 hour job with a three month boy and three year girl. Most of my jobs have been long hours. However, willing to accept shorter hours, too. I assure you that you would never regret hiring me and am certain my families would validate this. I stay involved with many of the children and now take them to movies, yogurt, bowling and go to many of their ball games. I consider them "my children", too. I really love children and their well-being is most important to me. I have many references and they are on my computer and I can e-mail them to you, if interested. Thanks so much for your time. Joy Taylor
