Hello, my name is Christine! I am a teacher with a certification in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. I am currently half way through my Master's in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction (emphasis on Educating for Social Justice). I currently teach Pre-K and have taught preschool as well. Before teaching in early childhood, I managed a school garden where I taught 3-11 year olds in daily environmental science and nutritional cooking classes. I love to incorporate cooking and health, yoga and meditation into my caregiving. I have extensive experience caring for children, ages 3months - 12 years old. I love the outdoors and I am particularly experienced in helping children experience the outdoors productively and safely. I love crafting and crochet, gardening, cooking and music, and I encourage creativity and physical activity in myself and the kids I care for. I focus on supporting healthy attachments and encouraging independence, good communication, self-discipline, Read more self-awareness and self-care. I create fun, safe environments in which kids can develop holistically. I am very loving and patient, but firm and clear about expectations. I understand and value the importance of consistency for children, so it's important that the parents and I discuss preferred approaches to communication, etc. I have very strong references and a clean driving record! I look forward to meeting your family to see if we are a good fit!
