Hello Parents! My name is Joi Prendeville. I have sat for children (boys and girls) ages 6 months old to 12 years. I have also worked with teen age children ages 15 to 18. I am the oldest of 4 children with a 10 and 11 year gap between myself and the youngest 2. I have experience with newborn to teenage long-term care. While in school, I was nanny for a family for 3 summers while the children were from 6 months to 4 years. When the boys were 2 and 4, I was full-time live-in while their mother was hospitalized for several months. Infants and toddlers are my favorite, closely followed by the ages of 4 to 8. I am unable to have children of my own and decided that there are plenty of children in the world to contribute to and enjoy. My formal education included all stages of childhood development, personality and identity formation, as well as optimum support strategies of children as they develop. I am CPR and first Aid Certified and have been "live scanned" with Orange County Child and Family Services. I have also completed the clearance process to volunteer at Orange Wood, a temporary home for children within the foster care system. I am a college graduate in the field of social work. I chose social work because of my ultimate goal of becoming a licensed Clinical Social Worker. I chose this profession because I have a desire to assist families in having the best quality of life possible. My husband and I are "parronts" to 5 feathered children of our own. Our parrots are intelligent, beautiful, and lots of fun. We volunteer at a companion bird rescue and have adopted our last 3 parrots. These creatures are sensitive, smart and live a long time, up to 60 years. It is our privilege to provide the care and stimulation they need to thrive. I truly believe that parents need assistants and that children benefit from healthy and informed care givers in their life.

Joi currently babysits for my infant son, Mason, a couple times a month. She is very natural at caregiving. Joi is patient, caring, kind and loving to Mason. Joi spends quality time teaching and interacting with my son, which is exactly what I was looking for in a nanny / sitter. Mason smiles when he sees her, which is a very good sign. Joi has an impressive background and great experience and is more than qualified for this job. If I met Joi before I met my current nanny, I would have hired her as my nanny.
