Hi! My name is Amy and I am 21 years old. My favorite part about being a nanny is being able to be a positive influence and outlet for kids. More than that, though, I love learning from them just as much as they learn from me. Since nannying more regularly, I’ve become much more aware of who I am as a person and how that is portrayed to people, especially young kids who are so influential. I’ve loved getting to know both the kids and the parents better, and also myself. My experience includes nannying full time for two kids, ages 8-10 and 10-12, for two consecutive summers. My job included taking the kids to and from extracurriculars, making lunches, cleaning, caring for their high energy dog, and coming up with activities for us to do together over the long summer days. Most recently, I’ve been nannying for two Read more young kids, ages 2 1/2 and a 4 month old. Generally I watch the toddler in the mornings while the mom takes care of the baby and in the afternoons after the toddler goes down I take the baby, but there is overlap occasionally when I have both (or when I’m babysitting extra hours) With the toddler we follow a fairly structured morning combined with play, learning, lunch, and nap time. This includes taking him to weekly art and music classes, going to the park, occasionally visiting the aquarium or zoo, and practicing numbers/letters and lots of reading. The baby is still in a pretty steady routine of mostly eating and sleeping but is getting more and more active and engaged every day! With her I spend lots of time preparing bottles when the mom isn’t around to feed, changing diapers, playing with toys, discovering new sights in the stroller or carrier, and putting down for naps.
