Hello, my name is Katherina Oleynichenko. I finished Sacramento City College studying Early Childhood Education and finished Sacramento State University this past semester Spring 2025 in Child Development with a minor in Deaf studies. In my professional experience, I have babysat toddlers through kindergarten-aged children at my church on Thursday night every other week for the past two years. My goal was to make sure all the children would play nice, eat and enjoy their snacks, and leave the center with a smile on their faces. At my church, I also participated as a lead counselor and supervisor of children in a program called Vacation Bible School which occurs every summer as a day camp for children ages 4-10. Through Vacation Bible school, I not only supervised children but made sure all were happy, entertained, and fed, as we also had snacks throughout the day and you know what happens when a child does not eat, they are cranky. Another professional experience that I am currently a member of is Awana Clubs, which is ages from 4-6 and 7-12. I volunteer as the main coordinator and also a crew leader which oversees the children and their behavior. I practice Bible verses with them, participate in sports activities, and share lots of hugs. I also have experience with infants and pre-toddlers. I was the main babysitter for 4 years while my own little brother was growing up and I have learned what it means to have a crucial bedtime/daytime schedule for infants, from nap time to food breaks and how much attention infants and little babies need and crying is their main source of disagreement but should not be their main source of communication and smiling is better. Some skills that I have gained over the years are good time management and patience with children. Children want your undivided attention and unconditional affection and as an adult or babysitter, my goal is to provide that environment while also supporting their growth into future young adults. One of my greatest achievements and growth moments as a student in early childhood development and personal development is being able to think of entertaining activities fast and fun games to play if the child begins to get bored. Being creative is an amazing source of outlet to let children be who they are through painting, coloring, or doing various crafts. I also speak Russian and am proficient in American Sign Language. For as long as I could remember, I’ve always loved working with kids. At first it started with small things like volunteering at my local library for kids events, reading to special needs children, but then I started doing small babysitting gigs, getting into more volunteer work for special needs kids and teenagers, and eventually worked at a daycare! I’ve unfortunately moved away from the city the daycare is in, but my love for taking care of children has remained! Every age has a place in my heart and patience is my #1 skill! Hi! I am a part-time graduate student working as a nanny/babysitter on the side. I have over 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. Babysitting experience: I have taken care of children ages 2 months to 14 years, up to 4 children at a time. I am comfortable with overnights after getting to know a family first. Nanny experience: I have 2.5 years total experience working as a full time nanny. I spent one year in Chicago splitting my time between two families with complimentary schedules. The first had children ages 1.5 yrs and 4 yrs. The second had children ages 2, 6, and 9. I started nannying in Sacramento with a series of temporary/short-term jobs totalling 6 months of experience. Most of these families had infants or toddlers and were waiting for a spot at a daycare, or I was filling in while their regular nanny went on maternity leave or an extended vacation.
