Meet Mary

  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Comfortable with pets

Hello, I am pursuing a career in infant, toddler, and/ or child care after serving the healthcare industry over 20 years as a Certified Nurse Assistant. I have the experience and knowledge in quality care regardless of age. I possess a solid medical caregiving background, yet I have worked closely with HNW families in private home settings. I have consistently remained in private home care settings to provide continuity to families who need my services for no less than 3 1/2 years. I believe I am able to bring progressive communication, sincere enthusiasm, social perceptiveness, and conscientious critical thinking to any situation. I employ an attitude of compassion, intuition, and appreciation in my work, and daily existence. I am a mother of a beautiful daughter, a grandmother of a gorgeous, teenage granddaughter, and a step-mother to an incredible, teenage son. I am married to a loving man, who supports me Read more in all areas of my life; this includes my career endeavors or employment. This means, he will respect my employment if I travel, stay late, work extra hours, or get called in holidays/ weekends, if necessary with a family. I am excited to work with children, as my childbearing years are over, yet I am extremely active and youthful in appearance. I yearn to be surrounded by little ones with their whimsical behaviors, their excitement of discovery, their comical and often unique world perspectives, and their eagerness for wisdom. I recently authored, illustrated, and published two unique children's books, and I am working on a third. I volunteered, for approximately 1-2 years, to work with children ages 2-7 with my church teaching Sunday school. I have also worked with several children recovering from injuries and surgeries in a Physical Therapy setting for a well-known local DPT office. As for discipline, I believe most children can be reasoned with, (depending on their age/ mental cognition/ understanding), and using reward vs consequence is a beneficial way to modify behavior. I have been successful in redirection of behavior when encountering a tantrum. Yet, I am open to learning and implementing other behavior reformation tactics as parents see fit for their children. Consoling an infant, is merely engaging first in an investigation of the most common issues, ie: sleep, diaper, hunger, flatulence, cuddling, and vitals. All the while exuding a calm, and patient persistence to comfort them.
