Hello! My name is Paige. I have over six years of nanny experience, starting while I was attending UC-Irvine. I have my degrees in both French and international relations, with an emphasis in the Middle East. After graduating college, I went and lived abroad in Taiwan to teach English; this experience require me to not only be flexible, but to also be resilient and patient. Having to navigate around a city of millions of people without speaking the language is quite difficult for anyone. However, without this experience, I would not have had the experience of teaching children who do not already speak English. Not only was I able to be creative, but I worked with children who were in kindergarten all the way to high school age. I was required to be adaptable to working with a different teacher in every class. Some teachers also did not speak English Read more well themselves. In order to create a joint lesson plan, I had to think of ways to clearly communicate with not only students, but also my co-teacher. Visual and kinesthetic learning were tools that crossed both language and cultural lines, whilst also being effective and fun. After my experience in Taiwan, I worked as a private financial assistant. This experience was completely different than being in the classroom, but helped me more with dealing with people in high stress situations. I was able to beat the returns of the major indexes, such as the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones during the twelve months of 2014. More than any other experience, I learned and focused more on possible outcomes that come in the future down the road. I am itching to teacher English again, and left for Prague for six months to teach in a corporate setting. I earned my TEFL certificate at a local course, before then working or several companies in the city. Completely differently challenges arose in Prague that I had not experienced in Taiwan, but I managed to learn some of the language and adapt to the lifestyle with ease. I am a very active individual and grew up playing many sports. From yoga to soccer, I am still interested in fitness that is both in a group setting or an individual one. In additional to fitness, I am also keen on learning languages. I speak French with a high level of proficiency and hope to add German to my list. My approach to being a nanny is finding what works best for each individual. I am lucky to have been able to work with children from many cultures.
