Hello! My name is Desiree. I have my BA in English, with a minor in leadership studies from USD, a masters degree in leadership studies from USD, and I’m currently working on a PhD in educational leadership. During my masters studies, I also took classes in character virtues education, which involves teaching students socio-emotional learning through character virtues, such as empathy and kindness – which are two of the virtues that I focus on the most. During that time, I got certified as a character education counsellor, and I went to an elementary school in San Diego, where I taught second graders about character virtues. While I was in undergrad studying English, I was elected to join the writing centre where I was writing tutor for three years. I also took academic writing courses during my masters studies, so I also help tutor friends who are writing essays for their Read more applications into higher education. Also, I am a piano composer and playwright, so I love to infuse music and art into activities. I have not served as a nanny in many years, but I have 4 godchildren that I nanny and tutor currently. I have a great love for the potential within every child and I love to help them grow into healthy humans - mentally, emotionally, and physically. I live in Venice, so I am near where you are!
