I am an experienced nanny/tutor looking for caregiving opportunities in the Los Angeles area. I have over 6 years of experience working with children. I started working with pre school and elementary school children at Summer Camps and soon babysat many of the same children outside of camp. I worked my way up from assistant to supervisor at the St. John’s nursery, where I learned and applied up to date child development methods and practices. I also spent a few years teaching Bible school classes for elementary school children; this position involved leading group discussions, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities. In my last two years of high school and first year of college I was a part- time tutor and nanny for two middle school children. I went over their school work, drove them to after school activities, cooked them dinner and cleaned up around the house. When working with children, I ensure kind and respectful communication to elicit positive responses. I create a comfortable environment that encourages children to engage in beneficial risk-taking behavior. And most importantly, I adapt my behavior and responses depending on the best interests of the child at hand. I genuinely love children and find it easy for me to connect with them while also gaining mutual respect from them. While I do not have a CPR certificate at the moment I am more than willing to get certified so that I can begin working for you!
