Teaching and working with children has always been a passion for me. Outside of photography, I always knew I wanted to become someone involved in bettering the minds and lives of children. Becoming a teacher seemed to be the answer for me. I am a former preschool teacher of over 15 years. I love working with children and working face to face with kids again would make me uber happy. I've taught in schools with an emergent curriculum approach as well as Reggio-inspired settings where learning was through children's interests. Additionally, I recently worked in an after care setting for 3 years at an elementary school and worked with school-age children TK through 5th grade. With that, I've had the ability to work with children at all learning levels, manage children of different grades at once, and also provide an enriching environment for them. We provided a homework help program Read more as well as enrichment programs throughout the school year, and oversaw all programs as the site director. Finally, working with children in a home environment is not new to me. I've provided morning care for a young girl from age 3-11, and after school care for a young boy from 6 months until age 10. During my time with them I prepared simple meals, provided academic support, and introduced projects and activities to keep our days filled. And I still keep in touch with those families as well! Fun facts about me: I am family oriented and am a proud auntie!! I like shopping and love finding out I get 40% additional off the sale price when I hit the register. I won an egg in a parachute contest during the 8th grade. Once in a while I Google myself to see what comes up. I believe a person's shoes say a lot about them. I like to LOL as much as I can. When I have time, I lose myself in movies, books or music. I love the arts and music. I go off on rambling tangents about myself before saying, "Oh, enough about me... "
