Hi there! My name is Lainie and i’m 23 years old! I live in Los Angeles and have been nannying full time since I was 17. I have my high school diploma and am currently enrolled in online classes, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in English Writing with a minor in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have worked with children ranging in ages 2 months to 10 years old, I have experience with multiples and special needs children. My first long term nannying job in LA was for a young boy who suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was 3 months old. At 1.5 years old he still suffered from seizures and could not walk or talk, I scheduled all of his therapies, both in home and out of home. He had up to 3 sessions a day which included Speech, Vision, and Physical therapy. While his story Read more was heartbreaking, he was an absolutely amazing child. I worked with him for about a year and a half, I taught him sign language so he could communicate with those around him, how to chew so he could move on from soft foods, and much more. It was an inspiring and eye opening experience for me and it solidified my want to work with children. I worked for a family for 2 years in Santa Monica. A little boy who is now 3 and a girl who is almost 6. They are two of the funniest, most intelligent kids and I remain close with them and their parents still. They are both currently in school but I still nanny them when their parents need an extra set of hands. My responsibilities were taking her to and from school, planning fun, educational activities, taking walks to explore our surroundings (whether it be the beach or the park or the art store down the street), planning healthy and interesting meals, establishing and following a nap time and bedtime routine and of course, providing a safe and loving environment for the children at all times. My approach on parenting is simple and loving- everyone is respected and heard, when difficult emotions are felt, I believe in talking them through to help our little ones process and explore those feelings in ways conducive to their success and wellbeing. I love outdoor activities, reading, taking them to the park or library, dance parties, painting and drawing, collecting flowers, and all the good stuff that keeps the magic and bliss of childhood alive for everyone. I could go on forever about my experiences and my approach, I hope to talk to you soon and would love the chance to work with your family.
