Hello Friends! My name is Fateen Mukarram. I’m an Economics major at UC San Diego with minors in Political Science as well as Business with a specialization in Finance. Part of the Class of 2018, I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I have a diverse set of interests ranging from basketball and tennis to activities such as business marketing, digital photography (Snapchat) and graphic design, and creative writing and journalism, to name a few. When I’m not stressing over an intense game of Jenga, I immerse myself in life changing pursuits such as making 30-minute brownies in 25 minutes and singing along to songs I don’t know the lyrics to. Through the Partners in Learning Program at UC San Diego, I had the opportunity to work at underserved schools in South San Diego. I had the opportunity to: Work with grade school students directly in the classroom on Read more the given material, and created new exercises to challenge them to think critically and reinforce what they have learned. Serve as a role model and a resource in advocating the preparation for a university education. Raise academic expectations for students and families while examining the relationship between school and community as well as the social and political organization of elementary schools I also had the experience of working with children as a YMCA summer camp counselor. I worked as a Resident Advisor my last two years of college and am CPR and Mental Health First Aid Certified. Thus I am an expert in multi-tasking, connecting with others, putting on fun programs, and evaluating the needs of every individual. I am a very patient and genuine person who loves to smile and spread positive energy. Working with children is one of the most fun and reward experiences I could ask for.
