I have nannied and babysat 100+ of families in the Chicago area through Chime and have seen and supported many different parenting styles. I have babysat infants to high school students and feel very comfortable with all ages. I regularly nannied a family with 4 kids all under the age of 8 and have felt comfortable taking them on "field trips" all over the city (mostly the children's museum and the park!). From a very young age I was watching after and leading young people through my many experiences of being a camp councilor for many different ages, and because of this love of working with youth to give them a space to have fun and express themselves, I then decided for the last two years of high school I would nanny for a family with three young girls (including twins). I find it most fun when watching after youth Read more to come up with original games to play that engage them or plan little "field trips" we could take such as nature walks or trips to the community parks or museums. But when we aren't able to take these trips I know that the most fun is often had in a far off land or up in space in the comfort of your own home! It just takes a little bit of imagination and we are off exploring! I find kids get bogged down in the day to day tasks and forget that they have the magic to create whatever they want in the comfort of their own spaces. (building forts often inspires). I find it is the most fun for kids when I am finding a way to have fun with the kids as well- if I enjoy engaging in the activity, they usually will enjoy the activity. After my undergrad, babysitting for different families here and there I became a teaching artists and a substitute teacher for students of all ages. I have a lot of experience with young children ranging from 2- 14 but have worked with high school students in many capacities during my time in theatre. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students to take ownership of their own ideas and creative voices to create meaning in their lives through the medium of art, or other engaging and creative activities. I have been able to continue this instruction while I nanny and I always find the kids have a more productive day when they feel encouraged and when there is structure to their creativity. I hope I get a chance to meet you and have the opportunity to enjoy your kids just as you do. Young ones are such a gift to our world!

Kat is wonderful! Not only do the kids love when she comes over, but she always goes the extra mile. I have frequently come home to finished loads of laundry and dishes in the dishwasher without me even asking. I told her it wasn't necessary and she just said that it was during naps and since I'm paying her to work, she feels like she should actually be working. A rare find these days! And all with a very positive attitude.

Kat was punctual, very friendly and came across as being very engaged right away! My 3.5 year old had a great morning with her and we would love to have her over again soon. Her experience with kids and theatre is a valuable asset and she can really keep an energetic kid busy.
