Hello. I have my B.A. in Theater Arts from San Jose State University and teach online Comedy Writing for the Second City Training Center. For years, to augment my theatrical career, I worked administratively in the corporate world, but some major life changes led me in the direction of childcare. I truly enjoy my work. I have learned so much from each family I have worked with and feel fulfilled in knowing that I have had an influence in the development of children whom I have grown to love. Knowing that I am an extension of the parents' goals for the household and upbringing of their children, I follow the lead of parents, utilizing their preferred techniques in discipline, praise, education, nutrition, etc (along with the tools I bring from past experience). As a YMCA basketball coach, I have worked with kindergarten-second grade novice ball players along with working as a comedy writing teacher to 11-13 year-olds in Second City's summer "sketch" camps. Rebekah is an amazing person and it translates through as a babysitter. She watched our 2 toddlers for us and from the moment she walked into our house she was ready to go and already engaging our kids. Our kids are not use to having a sitter but they took to Rebekah immediately! Rebekah was all about running our house, while my fiance and I were gone, just as if we were home running it ourselves. She understands that different families have different cultures in their home and she believes in sticking with the parents routine, not implementing her own! And when our oldest toddler began to miss mommy and daddy, Rebekah was able to put her to ease. I cannot say enough about her, our family highly recommends Rebekah to anyone seeking a babysitter/nanny !!!
