I am a visual artist and writer with a collaborative, feminist approach to childcare. I have been a childcare provider for 10 years, beginning with the care of my six younger cousins who ranged in age from a few months to 10 years old. I then continued as a full-time nanny for a 6-month-old for the course of a year, and have spent the past two years caring for an awesome little girl named Divna beginning at age 5 in 2014. In addition to providing Divna with transport to school and healthy, organic meals, I have also facilitated a wide range of art projects during our time together. These include writing and illustrating made up stories, binding handmade books, crafting with mandalas, exploration with musical instruments and movement exercises.
