Growing up as the oldest child I felt the responsibility to care and look out for my younger siblings. At a young age I was already cooking, cleaning, and helping my siblings with school work. The joy I would see in my parent’s faces was priceless when they would walk in the door from work knowing that their 12 year old daughter had already managed the chores around the house. But for me, it wasn’t chores because I loved caring for my siblings and helping them grow. As I grew older my passion for caregiving began to grow stronger and my siblings were now beginning to look out for themselves which made me so proud. Therefore during high school I decided to start babysitting and the rest is history. When I graduated high school I was a bit skeptical as what I wanted to major in college but knew that Read more it had to be working with kids. I began to take child development classes and work at an after school program where my passion for working with kids grew immensely. After years of working in the after school program I decided it was time for something new and began working at daycares. Today due to COVID, the daycare I currently worked for decided to make a tough decision and let employees go. Since I had only worked there for a bit over a year I was one of the staff to lose my job. I miss working with kids profoundly! I miss the laughters, the arts and crafts, the meal prepping, and just helping them grow into that amazing strong person they are meant to be one day.
