My name is Filippia Iboko, and I am an African American woman born and raised in Los Angeles with an extensive background in child development. I have a B.S. in Liberal Arts and Child Development, but I consider being a mom my greatest accomplishment. I am married with four highly educated children. And in my spare time I enjoy nature and being outdoors, whether swimming, hiking, bike riding, skating or just relaxing at the beach or park. I believe that raising whole, happy and competent children is a great accomplishment. I am an educator by trade. Over my career, I have gained experience working with ages ranging from infants to teenagers, and each group comes with their challenges and joys. I enjoy working with children, and contributing to them learning new skills and developing into healthy adults. I also enjoy reading and learning. Particularly, I love learning about non-violent communication, Read more exploring ways to talk to children that encourage them to listen, brain development and research-based teaching. I believe that human development is in part determined by our bodies' natural changes, but that educational interventions also play a significant role in who we come to be. In this process of development, parents are students first teachers, and my goal is to support them in their roles. To this end of supporting parents, I don't mind helping with housework or transporting children to activities. My youngest daughter was a volleyball player, so I also have experience transporting teams to games and supervising teams on outings. In closing , I am easy to get along with, and I am a happy and positive person whose joy at seeing and supporting kids in all the stages of their development fuels my work. If my qualifications and training are what you are looking for, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me,
