Hello! I began my career in child development right out of college as an assistant preschool teacher and fell in love with the role immediately. It’s now been 5 years since then! Because it was only myself and the director working with 12 kids, I had to quickly adjust being able to multitask while actively engaging with the kids. I was really fortunate because I was given many opportunities to take on a role more like the one of a lead teacher as time went on, including my incorporation of American Sign Language intro the curriculum. The small school environment allowed me to really be able to form strong connections with both my students and their families. I often babysat for many of them and their older/younger siblings, even after they graduated. When I babysat, I prepared snacks and meals, organized play areas, planned activities, and did bath/bedtime. In some Read more cases, I even drove some of my students home from school. For the majority of the pandemic, I’ve did a lot of in-home teaching. I would do my best to re-create a preschool type of environment with the focus of learning through play. I spoke with parents about their child’s specific needs and areas they’d want to work on and create a lesson plan based off of that. For the past 2 years, I’ve been the Lead Toddler Teacher with my kids’ ages ranging from 18 months to 3.5 years old. I’m responsible for developing lesson plans based on different themes with an emphasis on speech and language development. I genuinely love what I do and am ready to take to take on a position where I can grow with the whole family. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
