Hello Moms & Dads, feel the Internet is so impersonal, so I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself and not just post my résumé. If you feel like I might be a good fit for your family, please feel free to reach out. I’m flexible when it comes to my schedule the best way to reach me is via phone call or text message 310-908-3176. My name is Colisha Turner, I'm a 42 year old mother of an 13 year old girl and I must admit that I'm loving the teen years. It should be mentioned that I'm not the average Child’s companion, as a matter of fact I'm the only nanny at the park who's playing in the sand, swinging on the swings and sliding down the slides or you might find me with a group of children organizing a game of kickball, freeze tag or Read more art projects. I worked at a children's fitness center for over 9 years, so I know tons of songs, dances and games. I started off being a nanny for 2 children, a 1 old girl and a 4 year old boy. We had so much fun together. My duties included picking the children up from the bus stop, preparing light snacks/meals, helping with homework, bath time, and bedtime. Every Friday we had "Fun Day Friday" I took the children to fun places such as go-cart riding, Chuck-E-cheese Indoor play spaces and many other places. My last nanny baby was Oliver. I cared for him from 5 months until 3 years old. Last year he went to preschool. So I started Rich Kinder Pea pods, an outdoor preschool. I taught 8 children everything they needed to know for kindergarten. I'm sad to say that the preschool is ending in June, but I'm also excited to return to nannying and find a new awesome family to join. I enjoy art, photography, creative writing, music, homemade crafts, laughter, and of course making a difference in a child's life! I'm very hands on, and like to fill the days with crafts and activities, rather than sitting in front of the television. I've always been very safety conscious, and take precautions to keep the house/play areas safe. I'm warm and nurturing and really enjoy feeling like part of the family, where we can all collaborate together on projects and really appreciate working with each other. I want to help enhance the skills your child already has while encouraging them to experience new things while being consistent. With the children I care for, I like to incorporate art, puppet shows, music, dance, and educational learning into our days. I'm not strict, but I am firm. I do not discipline with anger and isolation, I try to encourage "time-in" where feelings can be discussed and therefore worked through, leaving the child feeling accomplished rather than angry. Also, I like to keep a daily journal and log of our day together so parents can be informed and have a good idea of our daily activities and events, any notes we may have for each other, and how their child is thriving. I have experience with newborns this includes helping first time mom's navigate motherhood, postpartum, introducing solids, helping with baby routine, tummy time, and sleep, schedule. My experience with infants and toddlers includes. Introduction to different foods, helping to meet, developmental milestones, introduction to potty training, story time, pretend playing, crafts, painting, park exploration and educational learning through play. I also have experience with School age children, and teens/pre-teens. Those duties include picking children up from school, preparing light snacks/meals, helping with homework and bath time, as well as planning fun and educational activities such as crafts, puppet shows, music, dance, and outdoor adventures. I have excellent writing, and verbal skills, I'm a jazzy singer, skilled hide-N-seek player, silly song-on-the-spot-maker-upper, stands up to invisible monsters, excellent story time reader, fantastic loser at Candy land, master at giving a hug, art project queen, can construct A+ forts, cities and animal homes with just a few blocks, not afraid of looking silly for the sake of a laugh, I sing I love singing, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am very honest and dedicated to what I do and take the initiative to get things done. I have a very open personality and get along with almost everyone. I like having good communication with the families I work with as well as an open family-type relationship. I won't hesitate to make calls to the parents or ask a question if I need to, and as well I like the parents to feel just as comfortable to do the same. I'm reliable and always on time. I can perform light housework: - Children's laundry -Dishes -Organizing -General Tidying( children rooms/playroom) - Run any errands if needed (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, basic household , supplies, etc),but my main focus is the children. My rates start at $28.50 an hour, may vary depending on the number of children and specific duties required. Nanny Share rate $19.50 an hr per family My Availability: June 19th, 2023.
