Miya M. $23-40/hr Looking for full or part-time work as a nanny. 3 years paid experience Nanny in Los Angeles, CA 90056 Last logged in today Meet Miya Comfortable with pets Has a car Hello! Thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Miya, and I'm a 24-year-old bubbly and energetic Nanny with 2 years of experience as a Behavioral Technician for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. During my time As a behavioral technician, I provided 1:1 behavioral therapy to children (ages 2-17) replacing their maladaptive behaviors with behaviors that functionally communicated their needs in home, public, and school settings (LAUSD schools). Through this, I gained experience with potty training, tantrum de-escalation, and speech development. This time also taught me the importance of cultivating a positive and fun environment for kids to explore/learn in. My ultimate goal as a caretaker is to help ensure that when the child Read more is an adult, they can look back at their childhood with fondness and gratitude. While obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Applied Psychology, I took several courses in adolescent development and child education. Learning these nuanced theories of child development and education has made tutoring and helping kids learn one of my passions. As a caregiver, I believe in the philosophy of learning through play and the importance of giving kids the best chance to learn. I am an outdoorsy person who likes to be active and engage with various arts, from music and graphic design to painting. On my days off, I will most likely be at the beach surfing or slacklining (tight-rope walking)! I love introducing kids to niche activities and helping them explore various hobbies. For ex., slacklining has helped many of the kiddos diagnosed with ASD that I worked with learn body awareness, self-calming skills, and mindfulness. Seeing the light in a kid's eye when they discover their ability to gain skill–to help a child develop confidence in themselves, is one of the greatest things I have done in my life and why I Nanny. So that's me! Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and I hope to hear from you soon. Languages: Japanese (Conversational) and Spanish (Very Basic)

We did a 2-day trial with Miya and our son really enjoyed her child-like playfulness. We agreed on hiring Miya for a long period. We prepared everything she would need to start and our son was excited to see her on her first full day. However, she didn't show up. Upon attempting to communicate we didn't hear back; we didn't even have a way to pay her. We had to then go through the whole process (and still are) of finding another nanny.
