Hello there! My name is Scout. I am a dedicated kindhearted childcare professional with over six years of experience in roles ranging from teacher, sitter to full-time nanny.  My philosophy to childcare integrates art, play, and nature as foundational tools for learning and exploration. To me, imaginative, play based education is a powerful tool for a child’s self discovery. I strive to foster an atmosphere where every child feels seen and heard. I encourage each child to embrace their individuality. I believe that open and honest communication with children allows them to feel safe and respected. Working with children deeply inspires me; I appreciate being let into their worlds, in which every activity has the potential to become an adventure filled with invention and curiosity. I integrate my background in dance and art into my nannying in order to give children ample opportunity to explore creative expression. I also bring Read more my interest in cooking and baking into my childcare practice by cooking with children and creating favourite meals. In my work with children, I show up consistently open-minded, calm, and empathetic. I create a safe and open-minded environment for children--and everyone--to thrive in.  I lead with a child centred approach in my work, prioritising each individual child’s developmental needs and interests when planning activities. Whether it be a 3 month old or a 15 year old, I am able to atune to any age, and create an enriching and engaging environment. Along with childcare, I work as a freelancer, focusing in interdisciplinary dance artist/ choreographer. I have a BA in dance from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. For 3 years, I worked as a full-time nanny for two families, caring for 4 children total from ages two to five. In addition to my nannying experience, I have extensive experience as a sitter for ages 4 months to 13 years old. I currently work as an Art and Dance teacher to elementary schoolers. I look forward to getting to know your children and earning your trust.
