I have been babysitting since I was 14 years old. I have cared for children between the ages of 6 months-13 years old. I began working as a regular babysitter when I was about 16 for two boys (ages 7 and 9). I babysat for them for three summers. My job included pick up, cooking, reading with the kids, and all other childcare duties. While in New York City, completing my Bachelor's Degree, I worked as an evening nanny for two elementary school-aged boys. I helped with the evening routine by making sure homework was completed, cooking dinner, engaging in non-television related activities, bathing and bedtime. I was also on-call for weekend babysitting. I stayed with the family for two years and it was really lovely to be able to cultivate a strong bond. In conjunction with nannying, I tutored reading comprehension on the Upper East Side. I tutored for Read more two hours per session and did so about twice a week. I have cared for both adults and children with special needs. Both my younger brothers have special needs and I am very familiar with the care needed in that area. As a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts I have both a passion for creativity and for learning. I love to bring that passion into any household where I work. When I babysit, I like to think of fun and creative ways to play with the kids where they can really use their imaginations. The outdoors is a second passion for me. I love hiking, swimming, and anything that gets me active. I love working with children and when I get to do so, I feel truly happy going to my job. I grew up in a very large family (there are seven children) and I am one of the oldest. Therefore, I am comfortable creating structure, cleaning, and cooking healthy and balanced meals for the family. I grew up splitting my time between the United States and Italy so my specialty is Italian cooking! Learning was always a top priority in my household and I am more than willing to jump on board and inspire the kids I work with while they focus on their studies.
