I am a high school graduate, and am currently enrolled at DVC for my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have completed 19 units of early childhood education classes, and I am enrolled in 9 more units for the spring semester of 2016. The 19 units that are completed include, intro to curriculum in early childhood education, child development and psychology, principles and practices of early childhood education, health/safety/nutrition of the young child, developmentally appropriate practice for infants/toddlers, and observation and assessment in the classroom (I was in an infant/toddler classroom). The ( units I am enrolled in for the spring semester include, advanced curriculum in early childhood education, child/family and community, and diversity in early childhood education. I currently work for a family in Martinez as a nanny, four days a week, four hours a day. I am looking to pick up extra work throughout the week and Read more on the weekend. I believe in following children's interests to create new and fun activities, as well as giving children options to make their own choices; art and outdoor activities will always be offered. Modeling positive and appropriate behavior is very important and will always be practiced. I truly enjoy spending time with children and having fun. Growth and development come naturally and I love being a part of the experience, while aiding the child and the family.
