Hi my name is Ashley, let me tell you about my journey working with children. I remember being in my last year of high school wondering what I had a passion for, I started off at Forever 21 (clothing store) after 5 months working for this company it didn’t fulfill me. The journey starts here. 4 years ago I was offered a position as a teacher assistant at dreamland infant/preschool center and instantly found my passion. I started working with infants. I cared for them, gave them the comfort that they didn’t have while parents were working. I fed them, changed diapers & sang lots of lullabies. I am currently employed with Los Angeles Unified School District. There, I started working with ages 5-10. With the children, I assist them with homework, prepare snacks, engage with them in fun activities such as arts and craft, drawing and painting, outdoor activities, Read more literacy activities and music and movement. Besides these engagements with students I also support with payroll, managing the budget, ordering supplies, filing, scheduling staff, and organizing paperwork, materials and updating bulletin boards.
