Meet Lisa

  • Comfortable with pets

Although I currently have a daytime job as a nanny, evening and weekend babysitting gigs are a super fun way for me to meet other families, re-run some of my best loved games and activities, and make a bit of extra cash! I have been working with children since I was a teenager babysitting and volunteering with after school reading programs. In college, I worked with elementary school students at a Baltimore public school as part of a program called "Read A Story, Write A Story." After graduation, I was an 8th grade English and Creative Writing teacher at BASIS Tucson North, one of the top schools in the country. I ran multiple after school programs and enjoyed getting to know my students. I am still in touch with many of them years later! In recent years, I have been an "intensive therapeutic foster parent," which required a year of Read more certification classes on child development and healthy parenting techniques as well as an in depth assessment of my skills and fitness to care for high needs children. I raised foster children for four years before deciding to take a break from the "system." I am also currently a youth and children's minister at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, where I work with children ages 3-18 and their families. I am Safe Church certified and First Aid certified. I also love cooking and am comfortable cooking for special diets such as gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc. I love animals, but can't have a dog or cat in my place, so I would be thrilled to connect with a family that has pets! I look forward to connecting with you!
