Jaclyn’s Bio

My name is Jaclyn Murray; I'm currently a student working on my bachelor's as Respiratory Therapist. I have around a year until graduation. I'm looking for a possible long term nanny position with part time hours, or night hours. I have a tremendous amount of experience with children of all ages from newborns to 12 years old. I enjoy getting down on the ground and playing as well as rocking and feeding
I have been a nanny for a 15 month old, 18 months old and 3 year old for the past three months.  We engaged in activities such as reading, painting, coloring, playing at the park, walks and age appropriate toys. I also took care of feeding times, as well as nap times.
I love watching babies and children reach their milestones as they grow. I am all about playtime, reading, and keeping them entertained and engaged in toys, without the use of TV. all day long. I do enjoy the occasional TV. watching of age appropriate shows, from baby signing time, little Einstein’s, Elmo, handy Manny, & bob the builder.
In addition, I have a clean driving record, and insurance, as well as background checked and fingerprinted. For the past six year I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with skills ranging from newborn to adulthood both developmentally delayed and not. I am CPR certified and have credits in child development classes.

I cannot really rate this individual on her nannying skills, but as far as being responsible, that she is definitely not.

We set up an interview at a date and time of her choosing. I provided her with my cell phone number and asked her to please let us know if there were any changes to her plans or if she would not be able to make it.

We waited around with our two kids for approximately an hour, with no call or email to let us know that she decided not to show up. That was 10:00 a.m.

At about 9:00 p.m., I left Jaclyn a message telling her that we were disappointed that she hadn't taken the time to give us a
courtesy call to let us know she would not be meeting with us.

Lo and behold, a few minutes later I received a response citing the old "family emergency" standby, adding that she did not have access to her computer or cell phone until that very moment.

I am just glad we discovered Jaclyn's notion of responsibility prior to hiring her as our nanny.

Provider's Response

Just to give prospective employers a head's up. I did have a family emergency. I did not just pull the family emergency card out of my head. I got back with this family as soon as I could reach a computer or a phone and apologized to them profusely. They obviously did not accept my apology.

I am extremely responsible, loving, caring, and punctual. I have great references and just because 1 person cannot accept my family member was rushed to the hospital doesn't mean I'm a liar or a bad nanny.

Thank you for understanding, and I hope to work w/ your family

I don't usually post reviews but thought it was important for parents to be aware that I scheduled Jaclyn for an interview despite the review she had received from the other family. I took her call, she okay'd the time, I asked her, and all my applicants, to please let me know if they were going to be late or unable to make it. I was shocked that not only did she not show or call, but up until this day I have not heard from her what-so-ever.

I don't know what type of sitter she is, I've never met her. I do want to confirm the other families assessment, as I have experienced the same.

Provider's Response

I don't recall this event ever taking place, bac. k in Nov 2012 I was working full time as a nurse therefore I would have never scheduled an interview for childcare. My account was hacked during that time. I apologize for this inconvenience this DOESNT determine who I am as a sitter, I'm always ontime and early for that matter...
