Hello, my name is Riana M. Rosas, I currently work as a substitute teacher for the Norco/Corona Unified School District. Aside from my experience working with K-12 in an academic environment I have two years of experience implementing a health oriented after-school program curriculum with K-8 students through the partnership between Healthy Fontana and the Fontana Extended Learning Program. This included age-appropriate workouts and mini nutrition lessons. Prior to this I worked as the Arts and Crafts Advisor for Inland Empire Job Corps' enrichment program which primarily consisted of high school students. Demonstrations I held included jewelry making, water coloring, collaging, and ceramic painting. At this site I also served as the pool lifeguard and support referee during sports events. In addition to this experience a large part of my employment background was working for Chaffey College and California State University's Supplemental Instruction Program where I created fun and interactive Read more learning sessions to help reinforce math and science concepts for students needing extra practice. My academic background is in Nutrition, Humanities, and Theater arts Dance. These studies are my passions that I would love to share as a sitter. This includes nutritious snack/meal preparation ( I am specialized in dealing with food allergies as I have them and love recreating previously off-limits foods into what works for you and your child!), teaching kids food preparation and clean kitchen habits, creating jewelry from macrame and copper wire in addition to other art projects, teaching kids the basics of ballet, jazz, and modern dance with a focus on proper form and injury prevention (contact Leslie Bryan as a reference to my internship with dance and youth). My extracurricular background includes playing team basketball, theater, running a poetry and short story club, event planning/hosting, and volunteer work through local food banks. Other certifications I have had in the past include lifeguard, outdoor wilderness first aid, CPR, and AED trainings. If you are looking for a sitter who is going to do more than turn on the TV and open a bag of chips for your kids than please reach out to me. I want to keep your child safe, healthy, and most importantly -- engaged!
