I'm a 23 year old college graduate who recently relocated to LA from Madison, WI. I have a B.S. degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. I also have experience working with 15 preschoolers (ages 3-5) as a teacher's assistant, which I will expand upon below. Background: I am the second oldest from a family of six kids. My youngest sister is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She was diagnosed when I was 9. I learned how to change diapers/basic care when I was 10 years old. In fifth grade I would come home from school and hold my newborn brother for hours at a time so my mother could prepare dinner and clean the house. I have been babysitting for families other than my own since I was 13 years old. I have babysat babies three months old and up. I am CPR certified as Read more of February 2018. Skills/Qualifications: I chose to study social welfare because I feel joy when I am able to help people. Growing up with a child with ASD has taught me a great deal of patience and empathy. My main experience comes from my job as a teaching assistant for a nonprofit preschool in Madison, WI from February through June of 2018. I worked with 30 preschoolers, 15 in morning and 15 in afternoon, with each child coming from a low-income and underprivileged home. This experience taught me patience, how to educate children, proper ways to give children positive affirmation, active supervision, and many more childcare skills.
