My name is Jennifer & I am looking for occasional babysitting jobs and/or a part time nanny job (I have some availability on Mondays and all day Fridays)! Here is a little bit about me and my experience in childcare: I am a Chicago area native and have spent the last few years studying Radio-Television Film at The University of Texas at Austin in the Communication Honors Program. I will be graduating in December 2022 and am spending my final semester here in LA for my school's Semester in LA program. I have been babysitting for 9-10 years and have worked as a full-time nanny for several summers. I have experience with children of all ages, from 5 months to ages 12+ and am happy to share my references. Aside from my measurable experience in childcare, I consider my familiarity with entertaining and looking out for kids to be lifelong, Read more as I am the second oldest on five siblings. Growing up in a busy family of seven equipped me with the communication and problem-solving skills to manage multiple schedules and tasks — from extracurricular activities and play dates, to carpools and cooking. My approach to caretaking is rooted in my experience with nannies and babysitters from my childhood. As a kid, I always favored the caretakers who respected & engaged with me as an equal, rather than just a kid they were responsible for. I believe that best child/caretaker relationships are forged when the caretaker gets to know each child individually. Not only does this make each child feel loved, supported, and heard, but it makes it easier to come up with activities, games, & outings tailored to the kids' personalities & interests. In addition to the imperative tasks of keeping your kids healthy & safe, I believe it is a babysitter's job to help create memories they’ll never forget!
