I am a very high energy and loving nanny and the past couple months of working individually with kids during swim lessons while also teaching large groups of students in science enrichment classes has taught me so much more about what kids love and need from me as a caretaker. Kids gravitate to me the most, especially at the science summer camps I worked at this summer (coordinator and camp counselor), because of how much I prioritize having fun and being playful! You will find me on the playground chasing the kids instead of sitting watching on the bench! It is the same with teaching, making what they learn fun and simple is how I have been able to best help the kids learn! It is also why I was one of the top swim instructors at my company and why I had such a long waiting list of families Read more trying to get on my schedule. Not only did I learn how to make teaching an important life skill like swimming fun and easy; I also was able to learn many different teaching styles for kids because kids do not all learn the same way! They are all capable of thriving if given the right tools. I would know as someone who has ADHD I have a specialty of working with kids with learning disabilities and autism as I have worked with countless kids with them. I have so much patience with kids and believe in the value of communication and supportive words when it comes to the tough moments of the job. I also have extensive nanny/babysitting experience on top of all of that as I have been working in private childcare since the age of 12! The only reason I have taken a break from nannying is because of the pandemic but previously I worked as a nanny through high school and college. I care very deeply for all the children that I care for and want to be a part of helping them grow into confident, loving, smart, and explorative humans.
