I've been a teacher and student advisor in Oakland for the last four years, working with English Language Learners and students with Special Needs at Oakland Unity Middle and High School. Prior to teaching, I served as a nanny to children ages 2-12 throughout high school and college, usually working full days several times a week during summers. I also have experience babysitting and taking care of infants. I am happy to get references from any of these experiences, depending on the age of your child. In terms of certifications, am certified in CPR and have my English credential from California. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2012 with a BA in Education and Literature, and just wrapped up a degree from the Harvard School of Education in Language and Literacy. I am happy to work with students of any age on homework, writing or test prep. I am also Read more happy to help older students with SAT/ACT prep, since as an advisor, this was a big part of my job. I can also shop, prepare meals, and do housework as needed. In terms of me personally, I am a caring, highly responsible professional. I am originally from the East Coast, but my finance and I moved to the Bay five years ago for my teaching job. I enjoy reading, writing poetry, cooking vegan, and spending times doing yoga and being outdoors. Looking forward to meeting soon if I seem like a good fit for your family. : )
