I have such a passion for kids and babies, I've been surrounded by kids for years. I've been working for the city of Oakland for 5 years now, starting as a recreational aide at a summer camp with kids from ages 5-15. With my passion and dedication being around them at summer camp, I got to know who they are in an emotional stand point as well, and how kids function. I had to come up with activities preferably that had to do with the kids being active. That was my favorite thing t do since I grew closer to the kids and they loved everything I had to offer. Having a creative mind is very important for this field, kids are like a sponge, they absorb everything that we teach them at a young age so it's important to show them fun times and teach them now as well! Read more Arts and crafts is what I always incorporated in the kids daily activities especially if it had to do with math or even putting puzzles together! I can't wait to be able to work around kids again, but due to COVID the facility closed down. I also have four dogs so I'm very comfortable with pets and I'm even flexible enough to help with as much as I can. I'm looking for a full time job that I can find growth in helping kids develop their skills and also take care of them as much as I can. I'm currently attending Merritt College and majoring in Psychology, my classes are all online so I've been having a lot of free time. I'd love to be apart of a kids life by showing them care and love!
