Hello! I am so excited to join Sittercity and look forward to meeting you and your family. I have 20 years of experience working in the performing arts and STEM education. I have extensive experience working with young people as a teaching artist in NYC public schools, an athletics coach through US Youth Soccer, and babysitter. I identify as a transgender person and would be excited to work with all types of families, especially queer and non-traditional families. I speak English, as well as some very basic Spanish. I just started learning German. I am CPR certified. In addition to having babysat for a number of families in my hometown in NY, I have taught classes of up to 35 middle school and high school students in NYC, directed large summer camp programs in Upstate NY, coached traveling youth soccer teams of girls and boys aged ten to eighteen in Read more Kansas and New York, and even coached division 1 college soccer teams in Kansas and New York. I am also a proud uncle and part-time care-giver to my niece and nephew, ages 2 and 6. I bring an organized, warm, caring, open-minded, creative, and playful attitude to my time with infants, toddlers, and youth. I love painting and drawing, playing make believe, playing sports, exploring the outdoors, and cooking. I have some experience working with young people with special needs both as a volunteer with Special Olympics and Tech Kids Unlimited, a STEM education program for kids on the autism spectrum. I have dogs and chickens at my home, and have experience caring for multiple types of animals. I love cooking and helping plan healthy meals and snacks. Diabetes and asthma in my family and I have experience managing both conditions.
