Elaina May’s Bio
I am a professional nanny with an Early Childhood Education background seeking hours with positive, warm and communicative families, to begin SUMMER of 2018 (part time/long term). I have CPR/AED, SIDS and SBS certification, innumerable wonderful references and am a current member of both NAEYC and INA. I will obtain TrustLine clearance and would be happy to undergo checks at the local, state and federal levels.
As an active and energetic caretaker, I enjoy being outdoors and exploring the neighbourhood with youngsters. I appreciate parents who want their little ones exposed to all the area has to offer. I love working with parents who are educators, artists or are involved in sciences or healthcare!
My innate creativity and appreciation of the world around me enables me to consistently come up with creative ways to actively engage with the children in my care. Many years of classroom experience means that I have an extensive backlog of great projects, fun day trips and educational activities your children will enjoy. My volunteer position and contractual work at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum inspired me to seek out great science materials and books for the earliest learners. I read with and encourage children to read, modeling reading for pleasure and knowledge. Before moving to Pennsylvania, I worked in rural Minnesota as an early childhood literacy tutor, both within the school system and privately with several preschool children.
Parents work so hard to raise healthy, happy kids. You want the adults in your child's life to teach kindness, respect, compassion and curiosity through their actions and words. As such, I strive to be well-mannered, affectionate and reliable. I illustrate my interest in the world around me, and encourage critical thinking in the youngest learners.
I'd be an amazing addition to one or two special families and would love to begin a dialogue with those who think we may work well together as partners. If interested, please contact me with the following:
-the age(s) of your child(ren)
- the start date you are looking for
-the days and hours you need care, whether you are flexible or fixed on those days
-any additional duties you expect from your nanny
-any pertinent questions you may have about me.
I look forward to speaking with you!
