Hi, my name is Allyson! I am 30 years old. Wife and mother of one sweet 4-year-old. I have 7 years of experience working with kids in various capacities and ages. I have a bachelor of fine arts from Cal State Humboldt and an associate degree in psychology and social sciences from MiraCosta Community College. I also recently completed additional courses in Early Childhood Development, Childhood Health, Safety and Environment, and Fundamentals of Teaching in Early Childhood. I am fully CPR and first aid certified. I started my career working for a Foster care organization where I coordinated and provided transportation, care, documentation, and supervision during court-ordered visitation with biological parents. I was deeply inspired by my time working with those families but found myself moving into a more educational direction when I became pregnant with my son. When I reentered the working field I started teaching in classrooms of Read more all ages for a while before settling to work in a jr. Preschool classroom specializing in teaching children under the age of three, which remains my favorite age to work with. In my time as a classroom teacher, I had babies as young as 6 weeks up to three years and potty trained, when they moved on to the Preschool program. After being in the classroom for several years my center's leadership asked me to move into a program specialist role. In this role, I assisted all age groups (up to 5 years) in meeting high-quality educational standards in curriculum, environments, and interactions. I believe that because so much brain development that occurs before the age of five, it is vital that this time is treated as the essential years in a child's education that they are. I believe strongly in a science-based approach that combines loving and responsive caregiving with activities and experience that will support a child's mind, body and heart! I am looking to work with families that want to give their children a loving and supportive first step in education. I am willing to work with all age groups and have pet experience and transportation. I can provide copies of my degree and letters of recommendation upon request. I am hoping to find long-term recurring work as consistency of care is essential to create secure relationships that allow children to learn most effectively.
