"Every child deserves a champion..." Rita Person, TED Talk Hello, My name is Sasha Jones, I am a 23 years old, and I currently work at Boys Republic, a group home for young adolescents. In my time of work, this may be hard to believe, but I have helped over 100 kids positively develop social and academic skills. Though when I am not working, I do love reading a few good books, specifically Harry Potter lol, enjoying my family and friends with simple conversation and laughter, watching a new movie, preferably a feel good movie, animation, or action film, or enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking or camping. I enjoy learning, I currently have a Bachelor in Criminology and I'm looking to attain my Masters in Art History (I know, a little different from Criminology). I enjoying the beautiful and constant changes of life. Though one thing that remains constant Read more within me is my love for helping others, and specifically kids. Since my adolescent, I have made it a point to help others through care. I began my ventures as a nanny when I was ten, to assist with raising my sister and cousins. This carried on in high school, where I tutored elementary students and assisted my peers with counseling and academics. Though it didn't stop there, I became a Resident Assistant in college for two years for freshman girls and later for a co-ed floor of Juniors and Seniors. In these times of altruism, I found that I have a true love for helping others, so I decided to make a career out of it. A little over two years ago I began working as a Caseworker at Boys Republic, where we take care of young adults on a daily basis. In many ways, we serve as guardians to ensure the development of our young boys. Rather a teacher or a counselor, my current position allows me to understand ways I can be a successful Nanny. I love working with kids and although I do not have an extensive amount of Nanny experience I do know how to care for kids as a result of my daily practice and I do hope to discuss this more in detail if given the opportunity to take care if your little ones : )
