Meet Isabel

• Comfortable with pets

I have been an extra set of hands for a family with three children, picking up children at preschool, driving them to after school activities, hosting playdates at the family’s home, helping the older son with homework, shopping for groceries and serving dinner for the children. I also did laundry and light housekeeping, as needed. The husband calls me “Mary Poppins.” The position ended when the twins, now age 6, started kindergarten at the same school that their older brother, now age 8, attends. I played board games with the children, made puzzles, played soccer, basketball and catch, read stories, and helped them learn to write and spell. I also helped the twin daughter practice her ballet steps for her small role in the Nutcracker. The family always offers me a right of first refusal for baby-sitting services. I love to teach and have served as a volunteer tutor at Read more the Neighborhood Youth Association in Venice, working with children from elementary school age to juniors and seniors in high school. I have mentored them in the areas of reading comprehension, as well as academic and creative writing. During my son’s matriculation at Crossroads, I served as a classroom and playground volunteer in elementary school wherever there was an opening. In his middle school and upper school years, I served in various capacities, including room parent and community services parent, as well as a library volunteer. I am patient, energetic and listen with empathy. I have taken care of pets. I have an excellent driving record and drive a 2019 Subaru, which has an outstanding safety rating. I live in Pacific Palisades and am an alumna of Barnard College (Columbia University).
