Where should I start? I graduated last June with my bachelorette degree in liberal studies. My long term goal is to become a teacher. Ultimately, I want to make a difference in each child’s life I cross path with. I am currently working at a fast food chain, which you might have heard of, called the Habit Burger Grill. I am been working there for quiet sometime (going on 6 years now). It’s a stable job that pays the bills. However, I have come to realize that it’s much more than that. For some time I believed that I will not gain much experience from this job that I can use or help me when I become a teacher, but as I have taken on more responsibilities and became an assistant manager I think otherwise. I have learned and still learning to set my boundaries of what I will and Read more will not tolerate, by setting some structure of how I want my shift to run with each employee. As a result, I have gained a lot of confidence, interpersonal skills, and develop professional/personal relationships not only with employees but with customers as well. These skills, can also apply to being a nanny and babysitting. Whenever, I have some free time, I volunteer at an elementary school by assisting a third grade teacher with anything she might need. For example, sometimes I help her grade papers, exams, and quizzes. Other times, I work one-on-one with students and go over math problems, pronunciation, and spelling etc. Also, my boyfriends has two children, a two years old baby girl and a four years old boy, who I love dearly. I love spending time and bonding with them every chance I get. They are the most adorable kids I have ever met, but then again I might be a bit biased. I typically keep them entertained by taking them to the park, reading to them, and letting them use my phone to play educational games. For example, the four years old have been learning the alphabet, how to pronounce words, in my phone I have this app. that allows him to practice through various activities. I have found the use of technology to be very helpful in his development. All in all, even though I might not particularly have much experience babysitting or being a nanny, I know that I can handling the position. Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me. I look forward to meeting you very soon.
